The MPM-100 is a palm-sized, Bluetooth enabled mobile payment module that instantly adds comprehensive payment processing capabilities to a number of mobile devices and accepts both EMV Contact (Chip and PIN) and Contactless cards in addition to magstripe. Thus it can accept virtually any type of payment: credit, debit, loyalty, gift card or NFC.
As part of its Product Led approach, STS has conducted a survey of its partners to vote for the PIN pad readers they think should be supported in the future.

Software Engineers at Smart Technology Solutions Limited (STS) have designed and developed a fully operational mobile payments solution. It was first demonstrated at Cartes in Paris, earlier this month.
The demo showcased STS’ G8 software, running on an Android tablet paired with a portable chip and PIN reader, offering a functionally rich and highly flexible mobile payment acceptance solution.

STS is pleased to announce that it has gained its latest EMVCo Level 2 approval; this time for its new G8 Toll Interface payment application supporting the Ingenico iSelf payment device.
The approval is for terminal type 25 and follows the EMV 4.3c specifications meaning transactions can be performed both online and offline. The Ingenico iSelf device supports both IP and serial connections and has contact and contactless capabilities.
After a very slow start contactless card usage is now accelerating rapidly in the UK, driven by many large retail chains installing contactless card readers at all of their checkouts/payment points, at the same time as card issuers offering contactless as standard when they reissue cards. Also of significance in the adoption acceleration was Transport for London’s decision to scrap cash on its fleet of buses in favour of contactless bank cards, followed by adding contactless acceptance right across the tube network.
As STS continues to operate successfully as a Product Led organisation, the company conducted a second survey of its partners, to determine which G8 Plugin they would find most valuable should it be added to STS’ product offering in the future.
The questionnaire was issued to individuals from 19 live STS partners, representing 150,000 points of sale equipped with Emvelink and/or G8 software licences. STS proposed 11 new G8 Plugin options to be placed in priority order, with the opportunity to make further suggestions.

Beers and Chinese food aren’t an everyday occurrence in most jobs, however this was the case for the STS Development Team when they took part in the first ever STS Hackathon. Taking some time out from their usual jobs, the team spent the day working on several exciting mini-projects in a bid to see just what they could produce in a short amount of time.
